A plant that produces chemical and petroleum-based products in East Texas exploded early Wednesday morning, blowing out windows on homes several miles away and injuring at least three onsite workers.
KFDM-TV reported that County Judge Jeff Branick says the explosion originated at a plant in Port Neches, near the Louisiana border, on Wednesday at about 1 a.m.
In a press release, TPC Group said all personnel at the site have been accounted for and evacuated. The three injured workers are being treated. Their injuries are not known at this time.
At the time of posting, the fire continues to burn through the plant, causing extensive damage.
