Homicide Update P18059044

The victim of the Algoma Street homicide has been identified as David Hugh Sweeney, 59-years-old of Thunder Bay. His next of kin have been notified and the post mortem has been completed.

Police continue to hold the residence on North Algoma Street as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Thunder Bay Police Service continues to investigate the death of a 59 year old male found in at a North Algoma Street residence as a homicide.

The residence remains under police control pending the results of the post mortem.

Suspicious Death Investigation

The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a suspicious death on North Algoma Street. Officers remain on scene.

Further information will be made available as the investigation develops.

Investigators are looking for citizens with outdoor surveillance cameras in the area of North Algoma Street between River Street and Red River Road to call them at 684-1200.
